Douglas Jack Agu is a singer, songwriter, and producer better known by his stage name Runtown. The musician was born in Enugu on August 19, 1989, but spent some time growing up in Abuja and Lagos, where he completed his elementary education. He relocated to Abuja after his father passed away. After collaborating with Davido on the smash single “Gallardo,” Runtown gained notoriety in Nigeria and throughout the world. He is also close with the well-known musician Phyno. Runtown is pursuing a passion for fashion in addition to music because he is a student at a New York fashion institute. Career
Runtown’s first song, Runtown, marked the official beginning of his career. He began include well-known singers like Phyno, Timaya, J-Martins, and others after relocating to Lagos in 2007. In 2008, Runtown and Phyno established Penthauze Music in Lagos. Under the Penthauze record label, he put out two songs: Party Like It’s 1980 and Activity Pikin. Subsequently, in 2014, he signed a contract with Prince Okwudili Umenyiora, the president and CEO of Dilly Motors and the proprietor of the music label Eric-Many Entertainment. The contract between Runtown and Eric Manny Entertainment expired in June 2018. Soundgod Music Group, his own musical label, was subsequently established.
